Every Tuesday, Sony drops a bunch of new stuff onto the PlayStation Network. Those with a PlayStation 3 or PSP can download this new goodness, which ranges from PSN games to movies, themes and more. While the Official PlayStation Blog outlines these updates in full each week, we thought we'd help truncate the good news into something more digestible.
Pokemon Season 15 Download
Today's PlayStation Store update is a big one. Let's get the most important (and ridiculously exciting) news out of the way first -- Castle Crashers has finally arrived. It only took two years to meander its way over to the PlayStation Network, but the wait is over. Castle Crashers is hands-down one of the best downloadable games on any service this generation, and PSN users can finally revel in its glory for $14.99. A second new game also hits the Store today as well. Sam & Max Episode 5: The City That Dares Not Sleep can be purchased, and is free to those gamers who already acquired a full season pass for Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse.
PSP gamers also get a really awesome update this week, because Valkyria Chronicles II is now available for download for $39.99. And those with fond PSone memories will be glad to know that Theme Hospital is this week's PSone Classic. You can grab it for $5.99. And yes, there's a new PlayStation Mini as well. Coconut Dodge can be purchased for $3.99.
In case you're absolutely insane and don't know if you want to download Castle Crashers, there's a demo that's available to you starting this week. So give that a go if you don't know if you want to drop $15 on it. Upcoming games Vanquish and R.U.S.E. also have demos ready for download on the PSN this week.
To round things out, there's a lot of new DLC ready for download. The biggest launch on this front is no doubt the new BioShock 2 DLC titled Minerva's Den, which can be purchased for $9.99. MAG, ModNation Racers, Split Second, Yakuza 3 and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days also have plenty of DLC that may intrigue you. And of course, there are myriad Guitar Hero and Rock Band songs to add to your tracklist as well.
Since its release in July, Pokemon Go has seen success that can easily be termed unprecedented. The augmented-reality mobile game has broken several records during the short duration of its existence but its latest achievement dwarfs every other feat till now. Niantic announced on Wednesday that the game has been downloaded over 500 million times across all platforms.
